The Sr. Director of Platform Management is responsible for the leadership of planning, managing and execution of all the Genomic Health IT and Software Development projects and initiatives which require Platform Lifecycle Management, business analysis, and business process architecture. All Business Analysts, Platform Lifecycle Managers and Business Process Architects representing Commercial, Finance, Revenue Cycle, International, Ordering, and Lab Informatics domains report into the lead, including the manager of Business Process Analysis. The Sr. Director works cooperatively with the Product Lifecycle Management team to determine the synchronization of Product and Platform strategies and is responsible for the Platforms Long Range Plan (3-5 years) that determines the direction of IT and Product Software Platforms in the company as part of overall company strategies.
The Sr. Director has a strong influence on major global business decisions made by VP and SVP level executives across the company through the work of their team in analyzing and providing options for changes, evaluating alternatives, selecting and presenting relevant data for potential projects.
The Sr. Director is accountable for the Platform and software development prioritization and scoping process that determines the content of all software and IT releases. Under their leadership, the Platform teams will deliver 12-18 months detailed roadmaps, negotiating with business leaders on timing and scope, and with development leadership for timing and execution of projects and releases. The Sr. Director reports into the CIO and is responsible for communication of roadmaps, management, and setting of expectations and alignment with business leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Roadmaps, Project portfolio strategy, and planning oUse executive knowledge of business priorities and company strategy to determine optimal planning scenarios across all software and systems development teams, ensuring maximum business value is deliver over quarterly and annual timeframes oCreate and present options for executive decision making, working through your teams and collaborating with Product Lifecycle Management to gather key information to support option analysis and make end decisions on project scope, timing and budgets oCreate and manage roadmaps across systems and software platforms oIdentify risks and mitigation actions across the enterprise project portfolio, considering the ability to deliver, timing, scope and cost options for multiple parallel project tracks Develop and Lead the Platform Management team oMature, manage, and grow a highly collaborative, team and develop the capabilities of the Platform Management function to maximize output against short and long term strategic goals oApply strategic workforce planning, personal development, and teacher/trainer skills to develop the team to meet long term business goals oDevelop and execute requirements management strategies, taking into account types of projects and GHI's short and long-term goals Business Process Management oEnsure that business processes are managed strategically, matching capability development to long term value and driving a collaborative planning and project execution process with business leaders throughout the company oPartner with Product Lifecycle Management and software development leadership to ensure that business processes are kept whole and optimal as changes are made across the organization and that we systematically improve our ability to deliver on long term goals oCreate and translate business process management strategies and high-level business requirements into tactical changes to be executed through individual projects oManagement of global business processes throughout their lifecycle Reporting, Communication, and Influence oCompile, prepare & deliver executive level presentations to influence strategy and high-value decision making oCommunicate to, and influence, a range of stakeholders from CEO staff, SVPs and VPs across departments, down to technical leads, program managers and senior architects
15+ years' experience in information technology and services product management development 10 years working as a manager of a team of senior individual contributors exerting a large influence across the organization and of managing managers MBA preferred with a BS or MS in an engineering or other relevant technical domain Prior experience working as a Senior Product Manager, Business Analyst or Business Process Architect in an Information Technology or Software Development group in a biotechnology domain Experience in creating and scaling Product Management, Business Analyst and Business Process Architect teams with a deep understanding of the requirements management life cycle Strong understanding and adaptable application of the requirements and product management life-cycles spanning custom applications, COTS, and cloud-based infrastructure solutions. Experience in delivering requirements and projects across multiple information technology enterprise application domains (LIMS, ERP, CRM, Security, Privacy, Compliance) Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various levels within the organization and drive highly collaborative and strategic engagements. Proven experience in risk management from a requirements implementation point of view Proven experience in change management with an emphasis on business process development Proficient with project management software for use in managing requirements Proficient with requirements management software for use in managing requirements Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and presentation skills Strong organizational, leadership, problem solving and influencing skills
